WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO BE PAID?
That depends on the type of pub and its level of takings. Pub managers usually receieve a remuneration package consisting of a salary in the range of £20,000 to £60,000 per year, plus a profit related bonus, plus the option, in most cases, of free accommodation.
THE TOTAL PACKAGE
CPL offers a total package of training, licensing and assistance into pub management employment designed to help you get to and through the door of your first pub! This package is called
“The CPL Management Indtuction Programme”
LICENSING
To manage a pub you need to be licensed to authorise sales of alcohol. The licence you require is called a personal Licence - and it entitles you to authorise alcohol sales from any licensed premises in England and Wales. To be eligible to apply for a personal Licence you must have gained the recognised personal licence holders qualification - the National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (NCPLH). We will advise you how to make you Personal Licence application once you are qualified.
ASSISTANCE WITH EMPLOYMENT
Once you hold a Personal Licence CPL will arrange for the creation of a portfolio and CV for you and will distribute it to a selection of leading pub operating companies. Interview appointments for pib management jons will be made by the employer directly with you, but CPL will prepare you for these interviews and will support you every step of the way.
If you accept an offer of pub management employment from one of the companies that has interviewed you, that company will put you through a period of paid induction training - normally lasting six to eight weeks before you commence work as the manager of your first pub! |
